These are a delightful little dessert that's a twist on a cereal treat. You taste butterscotch in every bite ... it melts in your mouth. We love that these are chewy and crunchy at the same time. They'd be great as part of a holiday cookie platter, but fun for an after-school snack too. Yummo!

1 1/2 call-purpose flour

2/3 cbrown sugar, packed

1/2 tspbaking powder

1/2 tspbaking soda

1/2 cbutter, softened

2egg yolks

TOPPING 1 TO COOKIE BASE

3 cmini-marshmallows

TOPPING 2 FOR OVER MARSHMALLOW

1/4 cbutter

2/3 cKaro syrup, white

1 2/3 cbutterscotch chips (or 1 11 oz pkg)

3 Tbsppeanut butter

2 cRice Krispy cereal

1 tspvanilla extract

1 1/2 cnuts, chopped finely
How to Make Butterscotch Krispy Goody Bars
- Variations: Use semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips instead of the butterscotch chips. If you really like chocolate, use chocolate Cocoa Krispies instead of the Rice Krispies. Use either smooth or crunchy peanut butter. I used a mix of almonds and peanuts and it is delicious! Salted mix nuts can be used.
