Ingredients For amish keufels

  • PASTRY:
  • 1 c
    plus 2 tbsp. all purpose flour
  • 1/2 c
    butter, softened
  • 3 oz
    cream cheese, softened
  • FILLING:
  • 1 c
    brown sugar
  • 3/4 c
    finely chopped walnuts
  • 2-1/2 Tbsp
    melted butter
  • 1
    egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt

How To Make amish keufels

    In a large bowl, mix flour, butter, and cream cheese together, using a fork.

    Form dough into 24 small balls. Press and shape each ball into a shell in greased muffin cups.

    Mix brown sugar, nuts, butter, egg, vanilla extract, and salt in a bowl until thoroughly combined. Spoon mixture into the prepared shells.

    Bake in a preheated 350º oven until keufels are lightly browned and filling is bubbling, about 20 minutes.
