My family loves Rice Krispie Treats. I love to make and bake different kinds of goodies. So, I thought I would combine a couple of things and make them even better. They're always a big hit.

Ingredients For dark chocolate/peanut butter rice krispie bars

  • 2 bag
    mini marshmallows (10 oz each)
  • 1 pkg
    dark chocolate chips (10 oz)
  • 1/2 c
    butter
  • 1 c
    peanut butter, crunchy
  • 1 box
    Rice Krispie cereal (18 oz)
  • 1/2 pkg
    dark chocolate chips (10 oz package)
  • 1 pkg
    Reese's peanut butter chips (10 oz)

How To Make dark chocolate/peanut butter rice krispie bars

  • Melt chocolate chips in the microwave.

    Add the dark chocolate chips to a microwavable bowl and heat at 50% for 1 min. Remove from microwave and stir, place back in the microwave for an additional 30 seconds until melted. Set aside.
  • Melt butter and marshmallows.

    In a large pot over medium heat, melt the butter and the 2 bags of marshmallows.
  • Add peanut butter and melted chocolate.

    Add in the peanut butter and melted chocolate. Stir until combined.
  • Add Rice Krispies.

    Remove from the heat then add 18 ounces of Rice Krispie cereal and mix well. The mixture will be thick.
  • Pressing mixture into a greased baking dish.

    Lightly butter an 11x15" pan. Pour the mixture into it. Press down with wax paper until even in the pan. Set aside.
  • Melted peanut butter chips spread over the Rice Krispies.

    In microwavable dishes, add the peanut butter chips in one and the dark chocolate in another. Melt at 50% for 1 minute. Stir and repeat for 30-second intervals until melted. Pour the melted peanut butter chips over the top of the rice krispie bars and spread to cover.
  • Drizzle melted dark chocolate over the melted peanut butter chips.

    Then pour the melted dark chocolate into a baggie. Cut off the tip and drizzle over the top.

    Let sit for about and hour or until the chocolate has set. Cut into bars. Makes about 32.
