  • 1/2 c
    butter or margarine
  • 1 1/4 c
    brown sugar
  • 2
  • 2 Tbsp
  • 2
    squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
  • 1 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 3/4 c
    coarsely chopped pecans
  • ·
    powdered sugar
  • ·
    pecan halves for garnish, optional

How to Make Bourbon Street Bars


  1. Beat the butter and sugar until creamy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Stir in bourbon and melted chocolate.
  2. Combine flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking powder and pecans in a separate bowl. Stir the flour mixture into the wet. Combine evenly.
  3. Pour batter into a buttered 8x8 baking pan. Bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees.
  4. Cool on rack before cutting into bars. Sprinkle bars with powdered sugar and garnish with pecan halves if you wish.
