My mother made these every year for Christmas. She would make them and freeze them thinking they would last until Christmas, FYI - they are GREAT frozen. Just ask all 6 of us kids!!

Blue Ribbon Recipe

Lynelle's mom knew what she was doing when she made this recipe. It's not your standard chocolate peanut butter ball recipe. It's so much more decadent. The peanut butter filling is smooth, creamy and just melts in your mouth. Maraschino cherries add a lovely cherry flavor while the coconut gives a bit of crunch to every bite. The chocolate coating is perfection. These easy peanut butter balls will be a delicious addition to a dessert table. The Test Kitchen

How to Make Christmas Peanut Butter Coconut Cherry Balls

Step-by-Step

  1. Using a mixer, combine butter, peanut butter, powdered sugar, maraschino cherries, and coconut.
  2. Roll in very small balls.
  3. Put in freezer for several hours or preferably overnight.
  4. Melt in a double boiler 6 oz chocolate chips and 6 tbsp paraffin.
  5. Dip frozen balls in and drain over waxed paper on a rack.
  6. Can double dip if you want. I usually double the cherry mixture and the chips mixture making enough for dipping a double batch. Enjoy!
