EASY, I mean totally SIMPLE. . . almost a Banana split. . . I just had this at a get together at a picnic and its to die for. I had to ask for the recipe.

Ingredients For twinkle me dessert by freda

  • TWINKLE ME DESSERT
  • 1 Box
    hostess twinkies ( here comes the name)
  • 4 lg
    bananas, sliced
  • 1 lg can
    (20oz) crushed pineapple, drained but not dry, keep a little juice for moisture)
  • 1 lg Box
    instant pudding mix, vanilla ( mix with milk according to box directions)
  • 1 (12oz)
    or larger cool whip( i use the large size and have extra)
  • optional: maraschino cherries & chopped pecans or sliced almonds, or walnuts chopped for toppings

How To Make twinkle me dessert by freda

    Remove Wrappers from the twinkies. Slice (9) lengthwise. ( you'll have one left over to go with coffee while your waiting for this to set.)
  • STEP 1 & 2
You can see here the Twinkies Cut lenth wise.
Then the Bananas are layered next.

    Place twinkie halves in 9X13 baking dish, with cream side facing up.

Then I layered the Pineapple

    Layer sliced bananas, pineapple (spread around a bit), pudding, and then cool whip over twinkies, Please, Just in that order.

Now You spread the CoolWhip over the Pudding.

    Sprinkle chopped cherries that have been drained on paper towels, or use 1 whole on each slice.
  • Last Step 
Add the Cherries on top and Pecans. Chill in refer till serving time.
This photo shows with and Without the Pecans, as I have some Folks that cannot eat the Nuts.
So Very Easy. Your sure to enjoy making this one.

    Top with a sprinkle of chopped Nuts. Keep in refer, till serving time. Cool refreshing summer or anytime dessert, with no heat in the Kitchen. ENJOY SO SIMPLE
