My step-mom (Pat) used to make this recipe for us back in the 50's. We kids loved it and it did not taste like tomato soup. Tomato soup is the main liquid ingredient.

Ingredients

  • 2 c
    flour
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    shortening
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    cloves
  • 1/2 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 can(s)
    tomato soup
  • 1/2 c
    walnuts chopped

How to Make Tomato Soup Cake

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Put all ingredients into a bowl and mix well.

    Bake until done. Approximately 35 min.
  3. CREAM CHEESE FROSTING

    1 Cake Cream Cheese (room temp) 1 1/4 Cup Confectioners Sugar & 1 Tsp Vanilla. Mix until creamy
