I wanted to experiment, so i used what i had, that i thought would work...these are the result...they come out rather flat and dense like brownies, which is what i wanted

Ingredients

  • 1 box
    strawberry cake mix
  • 2
    oranges (juice and zest, 1 for each - cake and icing)
  • 1
    banana
  • 1
    egg
  • 1/4 c
    oil
  • 1 c
    powdered sugar

How to Make Strawberry Orange Banana Cake w/ Orange Icing

Step-by-Step

  1. Heat oven to 350.
  2. Mash banana into large bowl for mixing, add cake mix, grated zest and juice from one of the oranges, the egg and oil.
  3. Stir all together thouroughly and put into 9x13 pan sprayed with cooking spray.
  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes and turn and bake for additional 10 to 15 until center is set. Let cool.
  5. Poke top of cake all over with fork. Mix powdered sugar with zest and juice from second orange and spoon onto cake, spreading to edges evenly.
  6. Can be eaten right away, but i put mine into the fridge to be cold...i like cold cake...lol
