Peach Cobbler, The Old "Cuppa" Recipe

Millie Johnson

This is a very easy recipe. I don't know where it came from as it is very common here in the south. It's what we refer to as the "cuppa" recipe because it uses a cup of flour, cup of sugar, etc... Nearly everybody has either heard of it or knows how to make it! It's a family favorite and I like to serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.

How to Make Peach Cobbler, The Old "Cuppa" Recipe

  1. Preheat over to 350* and lightly spray a 7.5 x 11 inch casserole pan or a 9x9 in. square pan.
  2. In a medium pot add peaches and juice, 1/2 stick butter. Heat till it comes to a boil then remove from heat.
  3. In a medium bowl add flour, sugar, salt and mix. Now add milk and vanilla and stir to combine. Pour into baking dish then pour hot peach mixture over that. Pour the 1/2 stick melted butter on top. Bake for 10 minutes then I like to sprinkle a couple pinches of sugar on top and return to oven. Bake another 10 minutes then start checking it. It takes 20-30 minutes total, depending on your oven.
