fudge brownie cake

I made this for our July 4th dinner. It was so yummy. One sister said to make a chocolate cake, one sister said fudge brownies. They had me so confused, so I made both, together. Do not use the ingredients on the brownie mix and cake mix boxes. The brownie mix can be a slightly bigger size, but I wouldn't go much more. That is why I said you may have to use a little more water depending on what brand of cake and brownie mix you use.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

This fudge brownie cake will take care of anyone's chocolate craving. Dense, but not overly heavy, and full of chocolaty flavor, it's a classic chocolate Bundt cake. Warming store-bought frosting is an easy shortcut for the glaze. You want to dig into a slice when the icing drips off the cooled chocolate cake.

How To Make fudge brownie cake

Test Kitchen Tips
To prepare the pan, we dusted it with cocoa powder instead of flour. If you can only find family-sized brownie mix, only use half the package or the cake will not turn out correctly.
  • Prepare a Bundt pan.
    1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and lightly flour the Bundt pan.
  • Mix cake mix, brownie mix, oil, eggs, and water.
    2
In a larger bowl mix the cake mix, brownie mix, oil, eggs, and water. If the batter is too thick, add more water. I had to add 1 1/4 cups total.
  • Pour into the prepared pan.
    3
    Pour into the prepared pan.
  • Bake the cake.
    4
Bake for 50-55 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Transfer cooled cake to a serving plate.
    5
Let the cake cool. Transfer to a serving plate.
  • Warm the frosting.
    6
In a small bowl, add 1/2 tub of ready-to-use cake icing. Melt in the microwave for 30-45 seconds until it can be drizzled over the cake.
  • Drizzle melted icing over the cooled cake.
    7
    Drizzle over the cooled cake.
