daddy's favorite cobbler

This recipe has been handed down in my husband's family for generations. Whenever we need an easy go to recipe for an outing, this is the one we choose. It has all the right elements to make it a crowd pleaser. Everyone in our family fights for the corner pieces because the butter makes a crispy edge that is amazing!

Ingredients For daddy's favorite cobbler

  • 1/2 c
    butter, cold
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 3/4 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 pinch
    salt
  • 3/4 c
    milk
  • 2 c
    fresh or canned (drained) peaches

How To Make daddy's favorite cobbler

  • 1
    Melt butter in 8 or 9 inch square baking dish. In medium size bowl, combine sugar, flour, baking powder, salt, and milk. Stir together until combined but do not overmix. Pour mixture over melted butter. DO NOT STIR. Place sliced peaches evenly over batter. DO NOT STIR.

    Bake in 350 oven 45 - 50 minutes.
