If you like Bananas and Caramel you will love this. Simple easy to make with Bananas, Vanilla pudding, Dulce De Leche ( found in the Mexican food section ) and Pound Cake. Recipe from Good Housekeeping Magazine .

Ingredients For banana caramel trifle

  • 2 c
    instant vanilla pudding ( prepared )
  • 1 1/2 c
    sour cream
  • 1/8 tsp
    salt
  • 2/3 c
    dulche de leche
  • 1
    ( 11oz. ) pound cake ,cut into cubes
  • 4 lg
    ripe bananas, sliced into rounds
  • 1 tsp
    rum extract added to pudding (optional )

How To Make banana caramel trifle

    In a Large Bowl, mix togeather, the pre pared vanilla pudding, sour cream, and salt - Set Aside- In a microwave safe bowl, heat the Dulce De Leche on high power for 1 minute, Or untill it's soft, Then take out and Set Aside- In a Large Glass Bowl OR a Trifle Bowl, Put Half the Pound Cake in the Bottom, Then Pour Half the Pudding Over the Pound Cake, Then Lay Half the sliced Bananas over the top of the Pudding, Then Pour Half the Dulce De Leche , Over the Bananas , Then repeat the Layers Once starting with the Pound Cake as before. This needs to set in the Refrigerater for at least an hour or can be left for up to a day, so the flavors can meld togeather. After serving if there is any left it must be kept in the Refrigerater.

    Tip for sliced Bananas, to keep Bananas or any sliced fruit from turning Dark, Sprinkle with Lemon juice, it won't affect the flavors in a dish.
