I have LOVED this cake since I was a kid!!!! It would make appearances at Family Holiday Dinners and I could not wait to eat some!!! Years later I was tracking down the recipe and was asked "Why do you want that- it's no big deal JUST a cake mix"
This cake is THE DEAL!!!!!So moist, full of banana flavor and the frosting is perfect!! When I make it my brother-in-law BEGS for cake to call his OWN!!! LOL

Blue Ribbon Recipe

This cake is very simple, but sometimes simple things are best! The cake is moist and full of banana flavor.

The caramel type frosting tops the cake off great. I bet a peanut butter or chocolate glaze would be good also.

If you don't have ripe bananas, her tip is great and works wonderfully! Test Kitchen Avatar The Test Kitchen

  8. HINT **NO over-ripe bananas on hand?????? Place yellow bananas on cookie sheet place in oven. turn oven on to 350. When your oven "Beeps" that it is preheated take out the bananas. The skins will be a little brownish and bananas are warm, The heat gets all the sugars and banana flavor ready to get mashed into cake or banana bread recipes!!!
