This is my Aunt Faye's recipe. It's a pound cake, but it's not heavy at all. It's loved by many.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

A box of butter cake mix makes it easy to whip up Aunt Faye's pound cake. Adding cake flour, sour cream, and extra eggs makes the pound cake taste as if it's from scratch. This pound cake is moist and tender. Adding vanilla, butter, and almond extracts adds a depth of flavor. On top is a lemon glaze that's a tangy and sweet contrast to the rich pound cake.

Mix ingredients for cake together until smooth. Do not overmix.
  • Pour batter into pan and bake.

Pour batter into pan. Bake for 55 - 65 minutes until done (use the fork or toothpick test). Allow to cool for about 10-15 minutes and invert to a serving dish.
