  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/2 c
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 2/3 c
  • 1
    egg, slightly beaten
  • 6 Tbsp
  • 2 Tbsp
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 2 lb
    tart apples, peeled and thinly sliced

How to Make Apple Bars


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbles.
  4. Stir in egg until combined.
  5. Press half the mixture into a 9x9 inch baking pan.
  6. In a large bowl, stir together 6 Tbsp. sugar, 2 Tbsp. flour and cinnamon together; add sliced apples and toss lightly to combine.
  7. Layer apple mixture evenly over crust.
  8. Sprinkle with remaining crumbly mixture.
  9. Bake 45-50 minutes or until lightly golden. Cool and cut into bars.
