This is a great pound cake. Stands on it's own, and doesn't need a glaze or dusting of powdered sugar. We like it as is!

Ingredients For almond pound (bundt) cake

  • 1 1/4 c
    butter, softened
  • 2 3/4 c
    sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    pure almond extract
  • 5 lg
    eggs
  • 3 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    milk

How To Make almond pound (bundt) cake

  • Prepared bundt pan

    Prepare a 12 cup bundt pan. Mix 1 tablespoon of melted butter, with 1 tablespoon of flour. Spread mixture evenly in the bundt pan using a pastry brush. Set aside. (Your cake will release with ease.) Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Beating butter, sugar,  almond extract,  and eggs together.

    On low setting, beat butter, sugar, almond extract, and eggs in a large bowl for 30 seconds. Scraping the the sides of the bowl constantly. Then beat on high for 5 minutes.

    In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt together. On low speed, beat flour mixture into sugar mixture, alternately with milk.
  • Batter in the pan.

    Spread into the prepared bundt pan. Bake at 350 degrees, for 1 hour 10 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean when tested.
  • Cooling for 20 minutes in the pan.

    Cool for 20 minutes in the pan. Remove from pan and place top side up on a wire rack to cool completely.
