Ingredients For cincinnati style chili

  • 1 Lb. Lean ground beef
  • 1 sm. onion (chopped)
  • 2 tsp. Chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp. Ground red pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. Ground allspice
  • 1/4 tsp. Ground cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp. Unsweetened cocoa
  • 28 oz. Crushed tomatoes
  • 6 oz. Tomato paste
  • 1/4 C. Water
  • 1 Tbsp. Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt

How To Make cincinnati style chili

    In a large saucepan, over medium heat, brown beef with onion for 6 to 8 minutes, or until no pink remains in meat. Drain excess liquid then return saucepan with meat mixture back to stove and add remaining ingredients; mix well. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
