We've tried overnight oats, but never with flaxseed. Flaxseed is very nutritious and packed with fiber and Omega-3 essential fatty acids. It has a nutty flavor and, besides its health benefits, adds a nuttiness to the oatmeal. Strawberries and honey sweeten up the oatmeal. Delicious and creamy, it's a simple breakfast. We used whole milk, but skim, soy or almond milk can be used. While this is perfectly good cold, you can pop it in the microwave and it would be yummy too. We found this to be a lot for one serving. It can easily be divided into two containers.

Ingredients For strawberry overnight oats with honey and flaxseed

  • 1 c
    oats, quick cooking
  • 1 c
    strawberries, sliced
  • 1/4 c
    honey
  • 2 Tbsp
    flaxseeds
  • 1 c
    milk

How To Make strawberry overnight oats with honey and flaxseed

  • Layering oatmeal ingredients in a mason jar.

    In a container of your choice, place 1/2 cup oats, 1 tablespoon of the flaxseed, 1/2 cup milk, 1/2  cup sliced strawberries and 1/8 cup honey.
  • Repeating the layers of the oatmeal.

    Repeat layers.
  • Closing the mason jar and refrigerating the oatmeal.

    Refrigerate for several hours or overnight. One serving.
