Ingredients For apple-cinnamon oatmeal

  • 1 c
    skim milk
  • 1/2 c
    old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/2
    granny smith apple, peeled and cut into 1/2" pieces
  • 1 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp
    almonds, slivered

How To Make apple-cinnamon oatmeal

    In a small saucepan heat the milk, while stirring, over medium heat until it just begins to boil.

    Stir in the oats, apple pieces, brown sugar and cinnamon. Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, until the oats are cooked, about 7 minutes.

    Stir in the slivered almonds and turn off the heat. Let the oatmeal stand for 10 minutes, or until its thick.
