Wow, there is some heat to these eggs. They were enjoyed by all who tried them. I must admit that I chickened out and used 1 1/2 Tbsp. of chipotle sauce instead of the pepper! LOL This is one AMAZING DEVILED EGG!!! I love the mixture of the chipotle and orange zest. It is a wonderful combination. If you want to serve an egg that is truly different than all the rest well try these out. Again, from my "Deviled Egg" book.

Ingredients For smokin' hot orange deviled eggs

  • 6 md
    hard-cooked eggs, peeled, cut in half, and yolks mashed in a bowl
  • 2 Tbsp
    plus 2 teaspoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tsp
    salad dressing, such as miracle whip
  • 1/2 tsp
    white wine vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp
    prepared yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp
    chopped canned chipotles
  • 1/2 tsp
    finely grated orange zest, plus more for garnish (i used at least 1 1/2 tsp. grated zest for egg mixture and more for the garnish)
  • salt and pepper to taste

How To Make smokin' hot orange deviled eggs

  • 1
    Combine the thoroughly mashed yolks with the mayonnaise, salad dressing, vinegar, and mustard. Blend in the chipotles and orange zest. Taste, then season with salt and pepper.

    Fill the whites evenly with the mixture and garnish each egg half with a little orange zest.
