Ingredients For old time flapjacks

  • 3 c
    flour
  • 1 Tbsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 c
    dark brown sugar
  • 2 c
    milk
  • 4
    eggs (well beaten)
  • 3 Tbsp
    molasses
  • 4 Tbsp
    oil

How To Make old time flapjacks

  • 1
    Beat eggs on high for a minute, add all liquids and all remaining ingredients. Mix for one minute.

    Prepare griddle or skillet with oil and heat over medium. Ladle or pour batter on griddle to desired size. Cook until bubbles appear and the flapjacks are golden brown on the bottom. Flip the flapjacks over, cook until browned.

    Serve with jam, jelly, syrup, honey, cooked apples or berries...... MMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!! *** Add ginger to the batter along with more molasses and less milk. *** Omit the molasses and add blueberries! *** You can replace the milk with apple cider and add minced apples and cinnamon. *** Add a well drained can of whole kernel corn (Southern style!)
