cinnamon rolls

Recipe by
Cinna Bun

This is my signature recipe, I receive request for these rolls at every holiday and in between. This is why they call me Cinnabun. When I first started making cinnamon rolls I threw out more than I care to remember. My husband begged me to stop trying to make them. I'm ashamed to say I didn't, but I did try to hide the evidence. I buried the dough if I thought it was a flop. But It rose right out of the ground, my husband came home from work and saw it, he said what in the world is that growing in the garden, I knew but I never told. Finally I found the right recipe. Works everytime

How To Make cinnamon rolls

In a very large bowl add cake mix, flour, yeast, and warm water. Mix well with your mixer. This dough is very sticky, it does not pull away from the sides of the bowl, don't add more flour. Cover and place in a warm place and allow to double in size, about 1 hour.

Punch down dough, at this point you may need about 1/4 cup of flour to knead and deflate the dough. Divide into two pieces, lightly flour your work surface. Roll the first piece into a rectangle and brush the melted butter, sprinkle half of the sugar and cinnamon on top of dough. Roll up tightly jelly roll style. Pinch the seam to seal. Slice into 12 equal pieces. Place these in a well greased baking dish. Brush tops with melted butter. Repeat with the rest of the dough.
