This is so nice to have for the holidays. Homemade applesauce is wonderful in this loaf.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 1 c
    quick cooking oats
  • 1/2 c
    firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1/3 c
    vegetable oil
  • 1 c
    applesauce
  • 1 c
    raisins (i like to let the raisins soak in a little pure vanilla extract for an hour or so before adding)
  • 1 c
    chopped pecans

How to Make Applesauce Bread

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 1 loaf pan.
  2. Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, oats and brown sugar.
  3. Add eggs, oil, and applesauce; stir until well blended.
  4. Stir in raisins and pecans. ** If you soaked the raisins in vanilla, drain before adding. **
  5. Pour into loaf pan and bake 1 hour.
