This is a great and easy cornbread! I got this from a food friend known as Pointsevenout! I'm posting it the way I made it, using less sugar because I was serving this with ham bone soup. I'm also adding my photo.

Ingredients

  • 1 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 c
    corn meal
  • 3/4 c
    sugar - i used 1/3 cup
  • 1 tsp
    kosher salt
  • 1 Tbsp
    baking powder
  • 1 large
    egg
  • 1/3 c
    corn oil
  • 1 c
    milk

How to Make A Simple Cornbread

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix all dry ingredients together.
  2. Mix all wet ingredients together.
  3. Now combine both and mix til just moistened.
  4. Pour into a greased loaf pan.
  5. Bake at 400 degrees for about 45 minutes or til a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. When cooled, slice.
