1/4 tspbaking powder
3 Tbspvegetable oil
How to Make Mary Jo’s Southern Cornbread
- Heat oven to 425 degrees. Add oil to cast iron skillet and allow to preheat.
- Combine cornmeal, baking soda, salt, baking powder, buttermilk and egg. Add a small amount of oil to the mixture.
- Pour mixture into preheated skillet.
- Bake at 425 degrees for 25-30 minutes until the top is slightly brown.
