Ingredients For homemade pizza dough

  • 1 1/2 c
warm water (not over 110 degrees)
  • 2 pkg
    active dry yeast
  • 4 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp
    salt
  • 6 Tbsp
    butter (melted)

How To Make homemade pizza dough

  • 1
In small bowl or cup mix warm water and yeast and let it activate around 5 minutes.
  • 2
Mix flour and salt and blend in a mixer or mix by hand. pour the melted butter in to the yeast mixture (butter cannot be boiling hot, but just warmed).
  • 3
While the mixer is on start adding the the liquid to the flour mixture and just let it mix on low until a dough begins to form. Make sure all ingredients are incorporated as much as possible before kneading.
  • 4
Pour dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 2 minutes or so. My dough was kinda tough and thick.

Use butter spray (non stick) and spray a bowl then place your smooth dough in to the bowl, give a quick spray on the dough and cover. Let it set for 2 hours to rise and double in size.
  • 6
Once its has risen then you simply punch it down cut it into either 2 or 3 even sized pieces. This recipe makes 2 or 3 pizza's, depending on the thickness you prefer. we made 2, a round and a square.

After you have fit your dough in to your pan poke it all over with a fork, then top with your choice of toppings. We had a Cheese pizza and a pizza with onion, black olives, mushrooms, turkey pepperoni and cheese. After baking I rubbed the stick of butter on the crust, then sprinkled garlic powder and seasoning salt.
