"Yours-Healthy" Broccoli Oatmeal Rotis!

My family is one of the biggest broccoli-haters!

I had to find ways and means of feeding them all the vital nutrients!

Hence was born this recipe: it's tasty, healthy, wholesome and

"No one can eat just one!" as my family says today...

  • 3 c
    quick cooking oats (preferred: quaker: 1 min oats)
  • 1 c
    flour (preferred: indian stores wheat flour)
  • 5 c
    broccoli florets
  • 1/2 c
    olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1 Tbsp
    curry powder
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    garam masala
  • 1 tsp
    turmeric, ground
  • 1 tsp
    chilli powder (not mandatory)
  • ·
    salt to taste
  • 1 c
    cold water

How to Make "Yours-Healthy" Broccoli Oatmeal Rotis!


  1. Heat 2 tbsp of Olive oil in a pan and fry 5 C of broccoli florets in that oil, until all the florets get mashed.
  2. Meanwhile grind 3 C oats in a blender to make a fine powder.
  3. Mix together 3 c of ground oats, 1 c flour, mashed broccoli florets, spices, 1 tsp olive oil, salt and 1 c water to make a fine dough.
  4. Make small balls of the dough and roll each one out in the shape of a disc (Roti) using a rolling pin.

    Tip: use some flour to dust your surface, rolling pin and the balls if the dough gets sticky during the rolling process.
  5. Pre-heat a skillet on the stove and each time, immediately after rolling out a roti, put the roti on the hot skillet, spoon 1 tsp (required amount) of oil around the roti and cook it till it turns golden brown on either side, flipping it every 15-20 sec.

    Tip: when you sprinkle some water on the skillet and if it evaporates immediately, that is the right temperature at which you will make your rotis!
  6. Blimey! your roti is ready to be served...You can serve it with ketchup, coriander chutney, yogurt etc
