How to Make Plain Roll Dough
- 1Soften dry yeast in water (110 degrees) in a small bowl
- 2Add milk, sugar, shortening, and salt. cool to lukewarm. I do this in my stand mixer.
- 3Add 1 cup of flour; beat well .
- 4beat in yeast and egg.
- 5gradually add in the rest of the flour to form a soft dough, beating well.
- 6cover and let rise in a warm place (82 degrees) till double (1 1/2 to 2 hours)
- 7Turn out on lightly floured surface and shape as desired.
