My sister in law Angela would make this appetizers for when the family came over to watch the football games. I have changed the recipe by adding the lime zest and cumin to it. Truth is you can just use the cream cheeses only for a filling and wrap the bacon around the jalapenos and bake it. Its really not that hot after you cook it, just enough to make you want another one. Or add you own seasoning. I just wouldn't use anything with salt in it because of the bacon.

How To Make quick game day poppers

  • 1

  • 2
Cream cheese- needs to be at room temp and placed in mixing bowl add the garlic, cilantro, oregano, cumin, and lime zest. just mix it all together. ( filling has more flavor if you prepare this step the night before and let it set in ice box covered. )
  • 3
Fill each jalapeno with about 2 tsp ( more or less, depending on the size of jalapeno) of cream cheese filling. (don't over fill because it will bubble out while cooking.)
  • 4
Bacon or turkey bacon- cut 6 pieces of raw bacon in half. Warp raw bacon around stuffed jalapeno. ( the bacon should cling to the pepper)
  • 5
Pre heat broiler and line pan with foil. Place on non greased cooking sheet under the broiler in the oven for 8-10 min until bacon is brown and cooked and cheese is bubbling. ( if you don't want to use the broiler you can bake it at 350 for 25-30 mins)
