My daughter Lexi and I love going to Longhorn Steakhouse as a special treat. We end up ordering two orders of this because we love it soooo much. This is not my recipe but a copycat. I am making a cookbook for my kids and it wouldn't be complete without this recipe! Love you Lexi and I hope everytime you make this you think of me and our special dinners!

Ingredients For longhorn's wild west shrimp w/prairie dust

  • FOR THE SHRIMP
  • 1 pkg
    popcorn shrimp~12 ozs. (seapak)
  • 1~2
    cherry peppers, sliced
  • juice of one lemon
  • 1 stick
    butter
  • ranch dressing, or use the one i have posted here as well
  • LONGHORN PRAIRIE DUST
  • 1/2 c
    paprika
  • 1/4 c
    kosher salt, finely ground
  • 1/4 c
    brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    mustard powder
  • 1/4 c
    chili powder
  • 1/4 c
    cumin
  • 2 Tbsp
    ground black pepper
  • 1/4 c
    granulated garlic
  • 2 Tbsp
    cayenne pepper

How To Make longhorn's wild west shrimp w/prairie dust

    Mix all Prairie Dust ingredients and store in a container. This makes extra which can be used on a big, juicy ribeye steak sprinkled on after cooking or used as a rub.

    Fry shrimp in large skillet according to package directions. Drain and pat dry with a paper towel.

    Place stick of butter in a large saucepan with juice of 1 lemon. Heat over medium low heat until butter is melted.

    Add fried shrimp, cherry peppers and 1 1/2 teaspoons Prairie Dust mixture. Mix together and simmer on low heat until flavors mix, about 5 minutes.

    Transfer to serving dish and dip in Ranch dressing. Simply divine! Hope you enjoy it as much as Lexi and I do!
