I got this from a customer where I work. He swore it was a great game-day dish. I tried it, and I found that he was right. It's a great cold-weather dish!

Ingredients For curry mussels

2 lbfresh mussels

2 clovegarlic, minced

3small shallots, chopped

1/4 stickbutter
-
1 tspflatleaf parsley, chopped

1 1/2 tspcurry powder

1 bottlegood brown ale, like new castle

1small container heavy cream
-
1 tspblack pepper

1loaf french bread, heated, for serving
How To Make curry mussels

1Heat beer, shallots, garlic, butter, and parsley in large pot on medium to medium-high heat to just before boiling. add mussels and curry powder, cover, and let sit for 3-5 minutes, then shake the pot slowly. Steam for 8 minutes, covered. Add cream and black pepper, and shake the pot slowly 3-4 more times, or until everything blends together and all mussels are opened. Discard unopened mussels.

2Serve the mussels in the curry sauce with the toasted french bread for dipping.
