I got the inspiration for this one from Gale's Antipasto Squares! I really want to try that one day, but was thinking about my hubby's favorite Italian sandwich, so this is what came out of that! Lol! Hope someone else likes it too!

What an easy and fantastic dish to prepare! All the flavors of the meats shine in this dish. The marinara dipping sauce is a nice touch. This will be great at your next tailgate or for an easy weeknight meal.

Ingredients For baked italian sandwich

  • 2 can
    garlic butter croissants
  • 1/3 lb
    capiicola ham, sliced thin
  • 1/3 lb
    pepperoni, sliced thin
  • 1/3 lb
    hard salami, sliced thin
  • 1/4 lb
    honey ham, sliced thin
  • 1/3 lb
    provolone cheese, sliced thin
  • 1/3 lb
    mozzarella cheese, sliced thin
  • 2 tsp
    minced garlic, heaping
  • 1 Tbsp
    Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp
    garlic salt
  • 1 can
    petite diced tomatoes,15 oz
  • 1 can
    tomato paste, 6 oz
  • 2/3 can
    water

How To Make baked italian sandwich

    Preheat oven to 350.
  • 2
    Lightly spray a 9x13 pan with cooking spray. Roll one of the cans of croissants in the bottom.

    Layer honey ham, 1/2 provolone, pepperoni, 1/2 mozzarella, capicola ham, provolone, hard salami, mozzarella, then other can of croissant.

    Cover with foil. Bake 20 minutes, remove foil & bake for additional 20 minutes or until golden brown.

    For Mariana Sauce: In a small saucepan, add garlic, & dry seasonings, over medium heat. Add tomatoes, paste & water. Stir well to combine. Reduce heat to medium low. Simmer until sandwich is done. (I started this step as soon as I put sandwich in the oven.)
