When stuffed with cheese and sausage, and wrapped in bacon, these succulent treats are the perfect combination of both salty and sweet flavors. You can't eat just one. Did you know….Dates alone are a sweet snack alternative for health conscious consumers. Low in fat, and sodium, they contain no cholesterol, and are high in fiber and magnesium. Ingredients For bacon wrapped stuffed dates

  • 16
    medjool dates
  • 8 slice
    bacon
  • 1 c
    parmigiano-reggiano, grated
  • 1 pkg
chicken apple sausage (or your choice of sausage)

How To Make bacon wrapped stuffed dates

  • 1
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line a cookie sheet with tin foil, and place a cooling rack on top (this helps to separate from the bacon grease when baking).
  • 2
Remove sausage from casing, crumble into frying pan, cook sausage until done, and set aside to let cool.
  • 3
Slice open the Date and remove the pit. Do NOT slice all the way through - just slice on one side in order to open it and remove the pit (and stuff it).
  • 4
Combine the sausage meat and the cheese in a medium bowl.
  • 5
Slice the bacon in half, to create 16 pieces from 8 (and is smaller to wrap date with)
  • 6
Stuff the Dates with meat and cheese mixture. Wrap the date with a bacon slice.
  • 7
Place date on prepared pan, with the stuffing portion facing up.
  • 8
    Stuff and wrap remaining Dates.
  • 9

Bake until bacon is crispy, about 20 minutes.
  • 10
Once done, remove and let cool. Serve!
