Every time I make these they are the first appetizer that is gone. They are absolutely delish!

These scrumptious pinwheels are a delicious appetizer. They'd even be good for brunch. The sweet apples are a nice contrast with the savory dough and spices. Cumin adds an earthy flavor that we really enjoyed with the apples. Chopped cashews add a little crunch. The filling is wrapped in buttery crescent roll that's baked until flaky. Yum! Ingredients

  • 2 can(s)
    refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 pkg
    cream cheese, softened (8 oz)
  • 2
    apples, any type, cored and chopped
  • 1/2 bunch
    chives
  • 1 1/4 tsp
    cumin
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 3 dash(es)
    pepper
  • 1/2 c
    salted cashews, chopped

How to Make Savory Apple Pinwheels

Step-by-Step

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients except crescent roll dough.
  2. Mix the filling well.
  3. Unroll both the cans of dough and cut each in half. You should have 4 sections. Pinch together the seams.
  4. Cover with "spread" until there is just about 1/4-1/2 inch left at end of dough.
  5. Roll up and pinch seam. Cut into 6 slices using a serrated knife.
  6. Place on baking sheet and bake for 15 mins or until golden brown.
