This recipe comes from my husband's side of the family. I had to ask for the recipe because eating it only once a year was just not cutting it.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

This is a nice cheese ball that's full of all kinds of textures and flavors. The crushed pineapple gives it a slightly sweet flavor. We used red bell pepper to make it look more festive when mixed with the green onions. Pecans inside the cheese ball and coated on the outside give this appetizer a nuttiness. Everyone is going to love this!

Ingredients For holiday cheese ball

  • 16 oz
    cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 c
    finely chopped green onion
  • 1/4 c
    finely chopped bell pepper
  • 18 oz
    crushed pineapple
  • 2 tsp
    seasoning salt
  • 1 c
    pecans, chopped
  • 1 c
    pecans, finely chopped

How To Make holiday cheese ball

  • Ingredients in a large bowl.

    Combine the cream cheese, onion, bell pepper, pineapple, seasoning salt, and chopped pecans in a large bowl.
  • Mixing all the ingredients together.

    Mix until combined. (The easiest way to mix this is to use your hands.)
  • Cheese ball in plastic wrap.

    Shape into a ball. Wrap in plastic wrap and let chill for 1 1/2 hours.
  • Holiday Cheese Ball rolled in nuts and partially eaten.

    Unwrap the ball and roll into the finely chopped pecans until completely covered. Serve with your favorite crackers!
