At my house this year we wont be having a big Christmas dinner. So we will celebrate with a big Christmas morning breakfast and this will be the star.

  • 4 cups
    cubed hearty white bread
  • 2 cups
    cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup
    finely chopped onion
  • 8
    large eggs
  • 3/4 cup
    half and half
  • 2 tsp
    dijon mustard
  • ·
    salt and pepper
  • 6
    slices thick cut bacon, cooked and crumbled

How to Make Egg and Bacon Strata


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a 13x9 casserole dish
  2. In a large bowl toss bread, chesse and onion together, then arrange evenly in casserole dish. In this same bowl combine all remaining ingredients except bacon and pour over bread.
  3. Sprinkle with bacon. Bake until knife inserted in center comes out clean...about 25 minutes. Serve hot.
