    white sugar
  • half c
    brown sugar
  • 3
    egg yolk
  • 2 c
    milk
  • half stick
    butter, room temperature
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 2 Tbsp
    all purpose flour
  • PIE TOPPING

  • 3
    egg whites
  • 3 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1 pinch
    cream of tartar
  • PIE CRUST, PREPARED, BAKED BEFORE POUR-IN FILLING

How to Make Edith Davis Chocolate Pie

Step-by-Step

  1. Bake prepared pie crust
  2. Cook filling on stove-top, double boiler pan, put in pie crust
  3. Whip topping until fluffy, spread on pie, bake several minutes until lightly browned
