Ingredients For cincinnati chili

  • 1 lg
    onion, chopped
  • 1 lb
    extra lean ground beef
  • 1 clove
    garlic minced
  • 1 Tbsp
    chili powder
  • 1 tsp
    ground allspice
  • 1 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp
    red cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 can
    15 oz. tomato sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    cider vinegar
  • 1/2 c
    water

How To Make cincinnati chili

    In larges killet, over medium-high heat, saute onion and ground beef, until beef is browned. Add garlic, chili powder and stir until combined.

    Add allspice, cinnamon, cumin, cayenne pepper, salt, cocoa, tomato sauce, worcestershire sauce, cider vinegar, and water.

    Reduce heat to low and simmer for 1 1/2 hours. Traditionally Cincinnati Chili is served over spaghetti, we add shredded cheddar cheese on top. This is called a 3-way. This chili is also great on top of hot dogs, add cheese and you have a great cheese coney.....enjoy!
