Impossibly Easy French Apple Dessert Squares

Here's a double-the-goodness recipe that will serve 15.
**I prefer to use sweet apples, like Fuji and cut back on the granulated sugar, or you can use sugar substitutes to make it good for diabetics.
Ingredients

STREUSEL:

1 coriginal bisquick mix

1/2 cpacked brown sugar

1/4 cbutter or margarine
-
3/4 cchopped nuts

FRUIT MIXTURE:

6 capples, sliced peeled tart (6 medium)

2 tspground cinnamon
-
1/2 tspground nutmeg
-
1 coriginal bisquick mix
-
1 cgranulated sugar
-
1 cmilk
-
2 Tbspbutter or margarine, melted

4eggs, beaten
How to Make Impossibly Easy French Apple Dessert Squares
- Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray.
- In a medium bowl, mix 1 cup Bisquick mix and the brown sugar. Cut in 1/4 cup butter, using pastry blender (or pulling 2 table knives through ingredients in opposite directions), until crumbly. Stir in nuts; set aside.
- In a large bowl, mix apples, cinnamon and nutmeg; spoon into baking pan.
- In a medium bowl, stir remaining ingredients until well blended. Pour mixture over apples. Sprinkle with streusel.
- Bake 45 to 55 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean and top is golden brown.
- Cool 30 minutes or until set before cutting into squares. Store in refrigerator.
