  • 3/4 c
    shortening
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 2 c
    flour
  • 1
    egg
  • 2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/4 c
    Molasses
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    ginger powder
  • 1 tsp
    cloves
  • 1 tsp
    salt

How to Make Old Fashioned Ginger Snaps

Step-by-Step

  1. Cream shortening, sugar and eggs, lightly; Mix flour and spices together.
  2. Add to egg mixture with molasses. (be careful NOT to over-mix. Combine ingredients until everything is moist and stop.)
  3. Form small balls and roll them in granulated sugar. Bake 9 minutes at 350 degrees
