How to Make Homestyle Pepper Steak
- cut meat in thin slices, marinade with the soy sauce at least an hour
- meanwhile, cut the onion & pepper into thick slices,in a wok..( you can use a skillet)add the olive oil, and brown the thin sliced meat on both sides... only the meat not the soy sauce.this should be done on med-high heat( seals in the juices)a couple minutes on each side, don't over cook.
- take out the meat to rest...meanwhile in same wok add the onions & peppers, saute a few minutes, add back the soy sauce
- mix the water with the cornstarch and add in, this will make a nice semi-thick sauce, put the meat back in and cover for about 30 mins on low...till all the flavors incorporate and the onions & peppers are semi-soft ( not mushy)
