    1 lb. bacon
  • ·
    2 large onions, chopped
  • ·
    2 1/2 cups drained canned italian style tomatoes, chopped
  • ·
    1/2 cup dry red wine
  • ·
    salt, pepper
  • ·
    1 lb. spaghetti
  • ·
    1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

How to Make Spaghetti with Bacon and Onion Sauce


  1. Cook spaghetti as pkg. direct. Put 1/4 cup of the bacon fat into a large skillet. Add onions. Sauté 3 minutes
  2. Add bacon, tomatoes and wine. Break up bacon. Season with salt and pepper. Remember that bacon is salty
  3. Simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally for 5 minutes. Pour sauce over spaghetti; sprinkle with cheese.
