I make this whenever I don't feel like dealing with the hassles of cut-out cookies.

Ingredients For drop sugar cookies

  • 2 1/2 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 c
    margarine, softened
  • 1/2 c
    vegetable shortening
  • 1 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 lg
    egg
  • 2 Tbsp
    milk
  • colored sugar

How To Make drop sugar cookies

  • 1
    Sift dry ingredients together. Cream margarine, shortening and sugar till light and fluffy; add egg and vanilla.

    Beat dry ingredients until smooth. Blend in milk. Drop by tablespoons onto a greased cookie sheet
  • 3
    Dip the bottom of a glass in the colored sugar and use it to press the cookie dough slightly. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes.
