Ever wonder what to do with that left over pasta? Why not a twist on an old classic? This is my version of Mac n cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c
    cooked penne pasta
  • 1 pkg
    mozzarella cheese
  • ·
    bread crumbs
  • 3 Tbsp
    butter, melted
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 2 Tbsp
corn starch, dissolved in tepid water

How to Make Cheezy Penne

Step-by-Step

  1. Melt butter in a small sauce pan, add milk, and heat on low/med, add corn starch that's been dissolved in tepid water. Stir constantly, until it becomes thick. You are making a basic Alfredo, or white sauce. ( you can add garlic salt to this, or garlic powder, or any seasoning of your choice)
  2. In a big mixing bowl, mix sauce with cooked pasta (I used Penne but you can use whatever you have handy, really.) Mix in most of the package of shredded mozzarella cheese.
  3. Place into a glass baking dish (the size appropriate for how much pasta you really want to use, I used a 9 x 7 sized dish)
  4. Top with remaining cheese, and bread crumbs. Bake until gold and bubbly in a 350 F degree's oven.
