This is not your average Chili. It's not a Texas style, or any other style for that matter. This is the first thing I learned to cook and was taught by my Grandma when I was 11. It is my most favorite thing to eat and I hope you enjoy it too!

How to Make Grandma's Chili Soup

Step-by-Step

  1. Cook noodles in well salted water- just shy of al dente. Noodles will cook longer in the soup.
  2. Saute oinions until almost transulucent. Add hamburger and brown. Drain well.
  3. While hamburger is browning and noodles are cooking- pour tomatoa juice, chili beans, and seasonings(including butter) into a large pot.
  4. Add the hamburger and noodles to the pot and cook for 15-30 minutes.
  5. Spoon into bowls and top with shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, more chili powder, crackers, and/or jalepenos- What ever you like! My family likes to put Miracle Whip on crackers and sprinkle chili powder on them and eat it with them.
