I created this recipe and it makes a lot! This is great for pot lucks or family gatherings. There seem to be a lot of ingredients but it is an extremely easy recipe. Enjoy!

  • 1 pkg
    bulk italian sausage
  • 1 pkg
    bulk hot italian sausage
  • 1 pkg
    ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 pkg
    hard salami, sliced
  • 1 pkg
  • 1 large
    white onion
  • 1 box
    ziti pasta, cooked
  • 2 can(s)
    pre-made tomato/spaghetti sauce (hunt's, prego, etc.)
  • 1 large
    bag of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2-3 Tbsp
(heaping) chopped garlic (the stuff in a jar is fine)

How to Make Baked Ziti

  1. Brown the mild sausage, hot sausage, and ground beef (I like to do it separately) and put into a very large mixing bowl. Dice the salami and pepperoni and add to the bowl.
  2. Cook the pasta until almost al dente and drain. Add to the bowl, mix in the tomato/spaghetti sauce, the garlic (to your taste), and a handful or more of the cheese (again to your taste).
  3. Place in a very large casserole dish or any other large baking dish. Cover with more of the shredded cheese (as much or as little as you like) and bake at 350 degrees until golden brown and bubbly.
