This candy takes my family and friends back to our childhood days. Mom would go in the kitchen after dinner and put this together in about 10 minutes. It's a staple at all our family get together's. I hope this simple fudge will take you back to childhood!

Ingredients For old-fashion chocolate fudge

  • 2 Tbsp
    old fashion cocoa
  • 1 stick
    butter, room temperature
  • 4 c
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1-12 oz. can
    evaporated milk

How To Make old-fashion chocolate fudge

    Mix sugar and cocoa together until well blended.

    Add 1 can milk. Add stick of soft-butter. Mix until well blended. The butter will melt when heat is added.

    Put on stove and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and stir constantly until candy reaches soft boil stage. Remove from heat add vanilla. Put kettle into about 3 inches of cold water and continue to stir until candy becomes glossy and you can feel it getting thick. Pour into an 8x8 buttered dish. Let stand until cold. Cut and serve!
