How To Make chocolate chip cookie pie

  • 1
Ok Here it is Chocolate Chip Pie.That was the title. But I am changing it to Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough pie. 1/2 cup chocolate chips(I used semi-sweet) 1/4 cup butter ~Heat on low until blended and smooth Add to chocolate while beating on high the following: 1 can of evaporated milk 1 1/2 cup sugar 3TBSP of cornstarch(sift in, you dont want clumpies!) 1/8 tsp salt MIX THOROUGHLY!!! Beat 2 eggs until lemon colored, add 1/2 tsp vanilla, then add this to the prior ingredients, continue mixing on high...when well blended, pour into unbaked pie shell(it kind of smells like chocolate milkshake:) Cover top of pie evenly with 1 cup of coconut. The original recipe said to mix coconut with pecans , this sounds good but I didn't do it, because the fam no likee pecans :) Bake at 375 for 45 minutes. Top will puff a bit and form a layer. It will seem to "liquidy" when you take it out, but don't worry it will set up!! Allow to sit out on counter for a few hours, don't worry unless you are in Alaska it isn't going to get cold anytime soon. I got this out of a 1985 Mary's of St Hannah cookbook it belonged to Terri Weber. She forgot to put in how many eggs, so I had to come up with that on my own. It seemed to work. It was amazing and a BIG hit...I bet I could sell it for $4.00 a slice...because I would buy a slice at that price! I didn't take this picture but this is what it looked like...yummified.
