church peanut butter spread

We lived near an Amish community. They always serve Church Peanut Butter Spread with their homemade breads and rolls at their pig roasts and fundraiser dinners. I had to have a recipe of it and found one in an old amish cookbook. This is wonderful on bread, rolls and heated to a more saucy consistancy in the microwave (10 seconds), is unbelievable as a topping for ice cream. A little goes a long way.

Store like you would peanut butter. Keep it in a microwavable container so you can heat it in microwave for 30-40 seconds to make it into an ice cream topping consistancy. Otherwise it will be a nice spreadable consistancy for bread. I made this up and stored in 12 oz. canning jars. Sold the jars for $5 a piece at a fundraiser with my phone number if they wanted to order more. This makes a great gift with the recipe attached to jar.
