Once you have made these and eaten some, you will always want to keep this recipe on hand! These bars taste almost exactly like Pecan Pie! So simple to make, your kids can help you make them! They are also VERY appropriate to make during the holidays! Perfect in fact!

Ingredients For decadent butter pecan bars

  • 3/4 c
    butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1 c
    light brown sugar, lightly packed
  • 2
    eggs, whipped
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp
    baking powder (no more than that!)
  • 1 c
    chopped pecans

How To Make decadent butter pecan bars

  • 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8 X 8 inch pan. In a medium sized bowl, cream together the softened butter and the white & lt. brown sugars. Beat in the eggs and vanilla. Stir in the flour and pecans until just blended. Spread mixture evenly into the prepared pan.

    Bake at 350 degrees 40-45 minutes. Edges should start to pull away from sides of the pan. Allow the pan to cool before cutting the bars (or cut into squares).

    These freeze well, so make up a few batches and keep them in the freezer so you can have some at a moment's notice! Bon Apetit' Y'all!
